About Empower PT

Dr. Elissa Jacob explains why the connection between Personal Training and Physical Therapy is so important and why everyone should aim at working on both modalities.

Benefits of Empower PT

Education and knowledge beyond any other.

Elissa has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, specializing in kinesiology and physiology including cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal, and neurology. This combined with a fitness coach certification is by far superior to any personal trainer out there! There is not a higher-level professional in our healthcare field that studies kinesiology more than Physical Therapists, we are the epitome of movement specialists.

The freedom to access the physical therapy practice at anytime.

Take advantage of skilled manual interventions including joint mobilizations, soft-tissue mobilization, cupping, IASTM, and modalities for improved recovery and to manage sore muscles and tight joints.

Movement screening to determine your specific needs and goals.

When you sign up for personal training at Empower PT you will be given a functional fitness screening, which is a complete musculoskeletal movement evaluation that tells us where you might have issues in the future if you don’t address them now. This will also provide me the information I need to design your primary and personalized home program.

Safety and ongoing support.

There is an intimate relationship between function and fitness and you need to make sure you’re not working on your fitness goals if there is still a hole in your function. Both will be thoroughly vetted at Empower PT to ensure you are safe, working at staying healthy and strong, and avoiding injury or surgery in your future. Your training and treatment does not stop after our session is over. I keep close communication with all of my clients providing them with guidance inside and outside our sessions.
